Rainy days in my opinion are just as legit as “Sick Days” or “Personal Days”
Before leaving for work this morning, Daniel told me “it’s raining.  So don’t do too much.  Just relax and have a good rain day”
He knows how I get so caught up in getting things done, that I tire myself out.  I always have to be doing something.  If there is nothing to get done around the house, I create something that does.  Since yesterday was crazy, overwhelming, frustrating and exhausting, I decided to take his advice and have a “Rain Day”

So Kylie and I stayed in our pajamas and just did random things that make us happy.  She loves books, so we read a lot of those.  We ate some leftover stew. DELICIOUS! And of course we made cookies.  This girl loves baking and cooking.  Surprisingly she enjoys the making part more than the eating.  She’s not that big on sweets.  I’ll be honest though I kinda intentionally conditioned her to be that way.  For her whole first year I didn’t give her anything containing processed sugar. GASP!  I know some moms out there might thing I’m the cruelest person ever.  But I just didn’t want her growing up addicted, yes addicted (there are studies to prove that sugar is like a drug) to processed sugars.  And now, although she enjoys treats, she’d prefer fruit over anything else ALWAYS!
I’ve learned that when we take the time to just be with our kids, or family, pets etc.  we really come appreciate them and ourselves so much more.  I totally recommend taking a “Rain day”
